Cash shortage paralyses humanitarian operations in Sudan

 

Khartoum – Tana4Media – UNDP in Khartoum said that cash shortage in local currency in Sudan banks have effected the humanitarian operations all over the country, and that all local banks have specified a maximum withdrawal amount , while ATMs have a maximum withdrawal amount of 2,000 SDG which is about $47 a day.
The UNDP said in a release Tana4Media got a copy of , that local vendors are holding back in providing supplies to humanitarian organizations considering banks can not provide cash in return of those supplies, which had a negative impact on purchases, that effected beneficiaries since those supplies can not be bought from the local markets.
