Khartoum 21/04/2018 – The head of the Joint Chief of Staff, Lieutenant-General Kamal Abdel-Marouf praised his country ‘s participation in the Arab coalition to restore legitimacy in Yemen, and considered it a source of pride and dignity for the Sudanese soldiers added to its track record, previous participations and remarkable professionalism.
Abdel-Marouf addressed the officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers, after inspecting the conditions at the headquarters of the Sudanese forces in Jazan, South-west Saudi Arabia. He stated that Sudan’s participation in the coalition comes out of moral obligation to promote the Arab and Islamic solidarity, and the protection of Islamic sanctities, were he then congratulated the forces on the recent victory in Hajah and Midi region.
On the other hand, he inspected the conditions of those who were wounded and injured in war, at the military hospital in Al-Taif, conveying the greetings of President Omar Al-Bashir Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, the Minister of Defense and the commanders.
The visit of the Joint Chief of Staff to Saudi Arabia, witnessed the exercise of the Gulf Shield 1 during which he was accompanied by senior leaders of the various Sudanese army.
